Detoxification Diets
Losing Body Fat
because they want to defeat chronic conditions which haven't been effectively treated by conventional medicine. Whatever the reason, a detox diet can work wonders for your health and well being, but only if you go about it right.  If you go on a detoxification diet without giving it careful thought and planning, or without consulting your doctor, they can do more harm than good. It is a powerful tool, and as with all powerful tools, it has to be used with a certain amount of caution.

The simplest detoxification diets involve eating no food at all. You  should never diet without drinking fluids, but you can fast for quite a while on water alone. Some people go up to two weeks on water only detox diets. This has some advantages and disadvantages. One of the advantages, oddly enough, is that it is the easiest detox diet plan to follow. If you are on a juice only detox diet, it is harder to resist the lure of more substantial food. The juice that you drink during these kinds of detoxification diets just whets your appetite, which makes you crave real food even more. With a total fasting diet that only has you drinking water, however, you stop being hungry after a day or 2. Your energy will drop a lot, but at least it won't be as hard to continue to refrain from eating.

Of course, many people recommend using a more specialized detox program than the water only diet. Juice diets do have a lot of advantages to them. Of all the detoxification diets, they are probably the easiest to keep functioning on. Juice provides enough sugar and nutrients to keep your energy levels up, and even to provide a decent amount of sustenance. You can lose weight quicker while drinking only juice, because it will keep your metabolism from slowing down too much.

Of course, there are more extreme detox measures you can undergo. Colon cleansing diets have become pretty popular in this country over the last few years. Although some doctors dispute their effectiveness, other medical professionals swear by them. Basically, they put the detox in detox diet. The whole point is to clear everything that's stuck in your colon and digestive tract. This can be very unpleasant, but many people swear by it. Some even believe it has miraculous curing powers and you'll certainly drop some weight if you do it.

If you feel you have the dedication to try a detox diet for a few days or a week, go ahead and try one out - making sure to check with a doctor beforehand of course. You may drop that last bit of fat you have hanging around. Just make sure to make better meal choices after your off the detox diet.
People get involved in detoxification diets for many different reasons. A lot of people think of them as a spiritual thing as much as a physical thing. Other people do it to lose weight and unwanted body fat. Some people even try out a detox diet
